Packing . . .

Thursday, 17 August 2006

Why is it that something so simple takes so much time? Oh well, I think I’ve got everything taken care of at this point. Though I was less than thrilled to discover, upon checking in for my flights tonight, that I am scheduled to leave at 6 a.m. Sigh. Which means getting up around 4, which means that I am already up too late, and because I drank caffeine this evening I’m not going to sleep too well . . .

But c’est la vie, I suppose. Anyway, it’ll be nice to be out in the Great Northwest for a while, and to see all my family. And it looks like I may even have all window seats on the flights, which is a nice change. I hate it when I get stuck with the middle seats, squeezed between two people who inevitably have no sense of personal space (that is, of my personal space), trying for the length of the entire flight to contract myself into the smallest possible cubic footage. At least next to the window, I can lean into it and away from the person next to me! And with the no-liquids rule, I guess there won’t be too much worry about whether I’ll have to climb over the entire row in order to visit the airplane restroom. :)

Anyway, I should get going and finish up my packing, so that I can get up far too early and head out to Sea-Tac (by way of Atlanta) tomorrow . . .
